It’s that time of year again! With Christmas just around the corner, there is no better place to be this winter than in the Smoky Mountains. To help celebrate the changing of the seasons every year, the city of Pigeon Forge hosts their annual winter event called Winterfest! This event brings sparkling lights to the cities surrounding the Smoky Mountains, as well as plenty of other holiday specialities you won’t want to miss. What is Winterfest?
Winterfest is an event in Pigeon Forge, Sevierville, and Gatlinburg where millions of colorful lights depict scenes of your favorite Christmas songs, animals that live in the Smoky Mountains, and characters you know and love. You will be able to enjoy all of the incredible light structures strung up on light poles and set up on the sides of the Parkway for months! People love seeing the 12 Days of Christmas along the Parkway that runs through Pigeon Forge.
When is Winterfest?
Winterfest in Pigeon Forge starts in November and runs through mid-February. The exact dates change every year, but it is always during these months. You will be able to see the many twinkling lights and festive decorations during these months, and the best times to see them all lit up is at night!

Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland
Another fun thing to do during the holiday season is to see the synchronized light show called Shadrack’s Christmas Wonderland ! You’ll drive through a maze of lights and fixtures as you turn your car radio to a certain station to see the lights dance in time with the music! You can also visit Snowy Mountain Village for crafts, games, treats, and more. This exciting event is located at Soaky Mountain Waterpark in Sevierville.
Holiday Shows
Almost all of the incredible Pigeon Forge shows in the area put on special holiday performances during this time of year! See a Christmas-themed comedy show at The Comedy Barn or go listen to your favorite Christmas songs with a country twist at Country Tonite.
