Calling all chili fans, the 24th annual Winter Magic and Chili Cook Off is just around the corner. Showcasing the chili cooking skills from several area restaurants, attractions, civic groups and more, this year’s Gatlinburg event is sure to stir up something good!

Be sure to bring your appetite, guests to the chili cook off will have the prestigious honor of being a judge for this year event. By voting for their favorite chili sample, guests will help decide this year’s People’s Choice Award winner. Winners of this award will not only be awarded the satisfaction of having the best tasting chili in the Smokies, they will also have bragging rights for the whole year! Other awards to be presented at the Gatlinburg event include Best Apron and Best Presentation.

Want to turn up the excitement a few degrees? A fiery hot-chili eating contest will also take place during this year’s Gatlinburg event. During the competition, contestants will eat at progressively flaming temperatures until a winner is declared.

No winter celebration would be complete without a twinkling light or two. To honor this tradition, the city of Gatlinburg will light up the town with millions of LED lights to celebrate Christmas being just around the corner.

This year’s Winter Magic Chili Cook Off will be held on Wednesday, November 13, from 5-8 p.m. in downtown Gatlinburg. Tickets are $10 per person, and can be purchased online here.
