Summer Packing Tips for a Comfortable Cabin Stay in Gatlinburg

The long-awaited summer is finally here! And while many will be heading to the beach, we suggest folks to come visit the Smoky Mountains for a nice getaway from the beach crowd, whether for a weekend or a nice, long stay. To make the visit even better, there’s nothing quite like a secluded cabin in Gatlinburg for a true retreat from the everyday.

While most cabins provide many essentials like bed linens and a fully stocked kitchen to enjoy your summer vacation in the mountains, there are still a few things you need to bring with you to fully enjoy your time. Here are just a few to help you prepare.

1. Sunscreen

The sun is out, and so are those ultraviolet (UV) radiations. Sunscreen is essential, especially during these hot months. Sunscreen not only keeps you from being burnt and looking like a well-cooked lobster, but it also prevents your skin from being harmed by the radiation.

Make sure to put plenty on any exposed skin before you go out to explore the area, and reapply at least every few hours.

2. Toiletries

Although cabins provide linens and a furnished home away from home, unlike hotels, cabins normally don’t provide customers with the usual toiletries such as shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and body lotion. Therefore, be sure to bring all your necessary toiletries as well as any curling irons, flat irons, blow dryers and hair sprays you may need for your trip.

3. Bug Spray

We all hate that itchiness when we get bitten by mosquitos. Summer is the most exciting time in the lives of mosquitoes and other insects, and they will try their hardest to nibble at you and your family and friends.

So after your sunscreen application, spray on some bug repellents and make sure those bugs can’t find you on your hiking trip. You’ll be much more comfortable for a long visit to the mountains or a relaxing stay in the cabin without all the itchiness.

Now that you know the extra essentials to bring along in the summer, are your ready to begin planning a summer stay in the Great Smoky Mountains? Call Timber Tops Luxury Cabin Rentals for more information about a cabin in Gatlinburg for your next visit. See you soon!
