Of course, every day is a great day to be an American, but July 4th might be the most fun! With fireworks and barbecues, Independence Day celebrations are the highlight of the summer. In addition to all of the entertainment and food, it is important that we remember the incredible sacrifices people have made to keep America safe and free.
The Gatlinburg Midnight Independence Day Parade celebrates the fun of July 4th while also honoring America’s veterans and other heroes. This year’s parade will feature the 572nd U.S. Air Force Band and members of all military branches.

Special Guest Heath Calhoun
Also joining the parade is Wounded Warrior and paralympic athlete Heath Calhoun. After being injured while serving in Iraq in 2003, Calhoun joined the Wounded Warrior program, and eventually went on to represent the U.S. in two winter olympic games. He will be the Grand Marshal on the Rocky Top Sports World float.
Gatlinburg July 4th Parade Route
The Gatlinburg Midnight Independence Day Parade will begin at 12:00 a.m. on July 4th. The parade will start at traffic light #1a on East Parkway and turn south onto Parkway at traffic light #3. The parade will end at Ski Mountain Road on traffic light #10.
Nearly 100,000 people are expected to be in attendance to view this parade, and some will be bringing out their lawn chairs as early as 7 a.m on July 3rd! So, we definitely suggest coming early if you want a good view of the festivities.
