When you decide to stay in one of our pet friendly cabins in Pigeon Forge, you are preparing not just for a fun vacation for you but also for your pet, too. We’ve got plenty of pet friendly cabins in Pigeon Forge for you to choose from, but we also have a few great things for you to know about bringing your pet with you on vacation as well!

Benefits of Bringing Along Your Pet

As you may already know, having a pet can help reduce stress levels. The benefits work both ways! Pets want to be with you as much as you want to be with them. When a pet sees its human, or owner, they experience the same feelings that people do when they see their significant other.

Plus, bringing your pet along will save you money and worry. Even if you deny it, a part of you is always worried about your pet while you are on vacation. You could either enlist a neighbor or close friend to pet sit and hope they take care of your pet. Or you could board them at your vet, but not every vet will take the same great care of your pets.

That’s what makes our pet friendly cabins in Pigeon Forge so great! Your pet can have a vacation from being cooped up and can get out and explore the area, too.

Things to Remember to Bring for Your Petdog traveling to a pet friendly Smoky Mountain cabin

Once you have decided that one of our pet friendly cabins are the right fit for you, you will want to remember to pack a few things to bring along for your pet. These items may seem like no brainers to bring, but sometimes when you are in the middle of packing your vehicle up, you may forget to grab a few things. Make sure that these items are some of the first things you pack the morning before you leave.

Food and water bowls are a must for you pet. You don’t want to have to stop somewhere to pick up these simple items so that your pet can eat. Also, it may be a good idea to pick up a small bag of food for your pet if you are only staying a weekend. If it’s longer than a weekend, then consider getting a normal sized bag for your pet so that they will have enough of the food they are used to while on vacation.

If your pet loves to play, consider bringing a few of their favorite toys with you! You can even put them in the seat with them so that they will have something to do on the drive. These items will be great to have in your cabin because you can play with your pet anytime.

If your pet sleeps in a bed on the floor instead of on the bed with you, then make sure to bring that along too! You don’t want your pet to be uncomfortable when everyone goes to bed and they have nowhere to sleep. If they are crate trained and sleep in there, consider bringing that along as well.

And, if you really want to, pack some shampoo for them as well. Pets should get a bath regularly, at least once a week is preferable. You don’t have to give them a bath every night, but it would be a good idea to have their shampoo with you in case you have a fun-filled day out with your pet and they come back to the cabin a little bit smelly.
