1. Dollywood

The South’s favorite theme park is great for children of all ages. All of the rides at Dollywood are color-coded according to height, so it’s easy to find the ones appropriate for your children. Some of the best rides for toddlers include Lucky Ducky, Busy Bees, and Piggy Parade. Little ones also love the fountains that spray from the ground at Owens Farm. If your kids want even more wet and wild fun, Dollywood’s Splash Country has two special sections for toddlers to enjoy.

2. Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies

Ripley’s Aquarium has lots of exhibits that your toddler will love! Adventurous children can pet a live stingray at Touch a Ray Bay or crawl through the underwater tunnels at the Penguin Playhouse. Toddlers also love the Discovery Center which features numerous interactive displays.

3. The Track

The Track is a family fun center with its very own Kids Country. In this area of the park, you’ll find a number of great children’s rides including the Rio Grande Train, the Carousel, the Red Baron Plane Ride, Spin Tops, swings, a ferris wheel, and Noah’s Lark.

4. Smoky Mountain Deer Farm Exotic Petting Zoo

The Smoky Mountain Deer Farm is a one of a kind petting zoo that gives your kids the opportunity to get up close and personal with animals they don’t see every day, including reindeer, kangaroos, zebras, and camels. Toddlers will be tickled by the chance to pet and feed all the animals. Kids can hand-feed a mini-donkey, pet a baby goat, hug a deer, and stroke a kangaroo! The animals are friendly, well cared for, and very clean. Pony rides are also available.

5. Pigeon Forge Gem Mine

Toddlers love treasure hunts, and this attraction fits the bill. When you visit the Pigeon Forge Gem Mine, your little ones will have the chance to search for gems and precious stones like an old time prospector! They’ll be fascinated by the shiny stones in a rainbow of colors – yellow citrine, blue sapphires, red rubies, and green emeralds, to name a few. When they’re done, bring their finds inside, and an assayer will identify them. The staffers love children and welcome their questions.
