Kid jumping in a puddle in the rain

Have outdoor plans that were suddenly stopped because of a rainy day? Although you can’t enjoy the outdoors as you wanted to on a wet day, you can still make the best of a Smoky Mountain vacation because there are plenty of indoor things to do in Pigeon Forge the whole family can enjoy. Here are our top three activities for a rainy vacation day.

1. Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies

There is fun for all ages at the aquarium, and you could spend hours exploring, learning and watching. There are places to watch divers, sharks and even touch stingrays. Through a tunnel, you can swim with the fish and see under the water. This year the aquarium has received a 2013 TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence and is ranked as one of the top attractions in the area.

2. Wonderworks

Wonderworks is an experiment gone right. This upside-down building is hard to miss, and inside everything is topsy-turvy as well. The hands-on exhibits are great for growing minds and imaginations. You can be shaken by an earthquake and feel hurricane winds once you enter. There are fun learning activities and some great ways to get everyone thinking.

3. Stay In

If you stay in one of Timber Tops’ cabins in Pigeon Forge, there are amenities everyone can enjoy. Instead of going out into the rain, you won’t have to leave the cabin because we offer theater rooms, arcade games and indoor pools. You can also cook as a family or gather near the fireplace for board games. Sometimes staying in can be the best part of the vacation for family time.

There are tons of things to do in Pigeon Forge, and Timber Tops would love to help your family create memories that will last forever in a cabin during your visit. To begin planning, call 1-800-266-1066.
