There is no reason to leave your furry friend behind the next time you visit the Smoky Mountains! At Timber Tops Cabin Rentals, we provide you with the perfect place to stay, and the area has so many fun things you can do together. Here are the top 5 things to do in the Smoky Mountains with your dog:

1. Stay in a Pet Friendly Cabin

You’re going to need a place to stay when you visit, and you won’t find anything better than one of our pet-friendly cabins! We offer a variety of pet friendly homes that sleep anywhere from 4 to 40 guests. No matter the occasion, whether it’s a romantic getaway or a family reunion, you will be able to bring your dog along with you! Our pet friendly cabins feature all the same great amenities as our other cabins. You and your dog can curl up in front of the fire to keep warm on those cool mountain nights, or relax on the deck together and enjoy the fresh air! One of the best parts about staying in our pet friendly cabins though is that they are completely affordable. We even offer cabin specials to help you save even more on your stay!

2. Hike the Gatlinburg Trail

While you’re in the area, you have to explore! Dogs always love going for walks, so take them on a walk through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park . There are two trails in the park that allow dogs, and one of them is just minutes away from our cabins! The Gatlinburg Trail travels 1.9 miles one way from the Sugarlands Visitor Center to the outskirts of Gatlinburg. It is relatively flat and an easy hike for anyone to do! The trail runs through the forest along the West Prong of the Little Pigeon River and provides beautiful views of the river, as well as foundations and chimneys of old homesites.

3. Visit Mad Dog’s Creamery

After your hike, visit Mad Dog’s Creamery! Mad Dog’s Creamery is dog friendly — so dog friendly that they even have treats and toys for your dog. You can choose a frozen treat for yourself from a full selection of hand-dipped premium ice cream, soft serve, sundaes, banana splits and milkshakes, then head outside to the patio where there are plenty of water bowls for your dog! It doesn’t get much better than sharing a frozen treat with your four-legged friend.

4. Stroll Through The Island

Another place in the Smoky Mountains that allows dogs is The Island in Pigeon Forge ! Dogs are allowed in The Island as long as they are kept on a leash. You can relax around The Island Show Fountains and watch an incredible performance of water dance and light, or just walk around with your furry friend and take in the sights! However, it is up to the individual shops and restaurants to decide if the pets are allowed inside the businesses.

5. Have Fun at River Rat Tubing

Another great thing to do in the Smoky Mountains with your dog is to have fun at River Rat Tubing. River Rat Tubing lets you float and drift down the Little River — and you can bring your dog along too! They even provide a tube for your dog, but it is recommended that you rent a tether to connect your tube to your dog’s tube if you want to ride separately. If your dog loves the water, then they will love this adventure!

Browse all of our pet friendly cabins and book your stay today to enjoy all of these amazing things to do in the Smoky Mountains with your dog!
