When most people think of things to do in the Smoky Mountains, they automatically name attractions that are in Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg. While these areas are amazing destinations, just next door there is a town that is filled with a ton of wonderful family activities. Here are 4 Sevierville attractions your kids will love:
1. Smoky Mountain Deer Farm and Exotic Petting Zoo
Chances are your kid loves animals. At the Smoky Mountain Deer Farm , your family has the opportunity to get an up close view of a ton of incredible creatures. In the petting zoo, you can walk among and feed a variety of adorable animals, including a Rocky Mountain elk, baby goat, camel, zebras, emus, and even Vietnamese pot-bellied pigs. Be sure to bring your camera along so you can capture the smile on your child’s face as they interact with all the animals. 2. NASCAR SpeedPark
While there are plenty of places to ride go karts in the Smokies, NASCAR SpeedPark offers beginning rides to introduce young children to the need for speed. Beginning with the Baby Bristol, your mini Earnhardt can race their way across the finish line. This is a beginning level track that is adorable to watch as young children ride for the first time! If you have older children, there are plenty of tracks for them to check out as well, including the Family 500, Young Champions, and Slidewayz. In addition to go karts, NASCAR SpeedPark provides many other family activities, including a miniature golf course and an arcade.
3. Forbidden Caverns
Did you know that Tennessee is home to the most caves in the United States? There have been over 8,000 caves registered to date. The Forbidden Caverns is one of America’s most spectacular caves, and one of the most popular Sevierville attractions for kids. Visitors to the caverns are provided with an entertaining and educational tour of sparkling formations, towering chimneys, numerous grottos, and a crystal clear stream you can drink from! There are plenty of handrails throughout the attraction, making it easy for children to navigate.
4. Rainforest Adventures Discovery Zoo
This Sevierville attraction provides another opportunity for your children to see and learn about all types of incredible animals. The zoo is home to over 140 species of animals, including reptiles, birds, and goats that can be fed! The Rainforest Adventures Discovery Zoo has teamed up with the Animal Kingdom at Disney World to bring your family over 600 animals to see. It is open year round and offers plenty of activities for kids, so be sure to add a trip to the zoo to your Smoky Mountain itinerary.
