Kids in a roller coaster in the sunset

Are you ready for a new adventure? Well Smoky Mountain fans are in luck as construction on Dollywood’s newest roller coaster is underway!

The FireChaser Express will be the Pigeon Forge amusement park’s first dual-launch family roller coaster. Honoring the heroic Smoky Mountain firemen of the 1920’s, the new coaster is sure to put a smile on the faces of all who ride it.

Set to open this spring, the new roller will be open to riders of all ages, and will seat four guests per kart. Dollywood will open for the 2014 season on March 22 with its annual Festival of Nations Celebration.

The FireChaser Express is just the newest of thrilling new rides to call Dollywood home. Fans of the Pigeon Forge amusement park will well remember the opening of the Wild Eagle and RiverRush as two other record breaking rides calling the park home. Wild Eagle was the first ever winged roller coaster that went on to win the Ride of the Year award, and RiverRush was the first hydromagnetic roller coaster.
