Theater stage with lights shining on stage

Are you looking for a good laugh? The Gatlinburg Improv Fest is guaranteed to crack you up! This uproarious comedy event is returning in March for three slide splitting shows at the Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre. Located right around the corner from our cabins, this Gatlinburg event is a yearly checkup for your funny bone! This blog has the answer to all of your questions about the event.

What is improv comedy?

Improv comedy refers to a show where everything is made up on the spot. Instead of memorizing a script, actors go on stage with nothing prepared and take suggestions from the audience. It takes really talented (and brave) comedians to come up with characters, plot, and dialogue right before your eyes. The great thing about watching an improv performance is that you will never see the same show twice! A good example of improv comedy is the popular TV show “Who’s Line Is It Anyway?”.

The Gatlinburg festival will feature a handful of hilarious improv groups from the area. Improv requires a lot of participation from the audience, so be prepared to shout ideas at the performers when they ask for your help. Who knows, you might even get called on stage!

Where is the Gatlinburg Improv Fest?

The Improv Fest will be held at the Sweet Fanny Adams Theatre located at 461 Parkway, Gatlinburg TN 37738. You’ll find the theater at Traffic Light #3.
