Gatlinburg’s Annual Chili Cookoff Spices Up the Season This November

Cooler temperatures are arriving in the Great Smoky Mountains, and that makes it the perfect time of year to indulge in some delicious chili. Come sample everyone’s favorite seasonal dish at the 25th annual Winter Magic Kickoff and Chili Cookoff. You won’t want to miss this exciting event in Gatlinburg, Tennessee. When and Where

The 2014 Winter Magic Kickoff and Chili Cookoff is scheduled for Wednesday, Nov. 12, from 5 to 8 p.m., along downtown Gatlinburg’s Parkway. This event is always well-attended, and guests of all ages are invited to attend.

What to Expect

With the holidays fast approaching, the city has chosen to switch on its millions of beautiful holiday lights during this event, which is sure to add to the enjoyment of everyone in attendance. Area restaurants and other local businesses will serve up their best efforts in the art of chili preparation. Thousands of cups of chili are expected to be served, and awards will go to those with the best chili, best apron, and best presentation.

Participants are also invited to take part in a hot-chili eating contest. Each serving of chili brought to the contestants will be hotter than the last, and the winner will be determined by who can eat the spiciest serving of chili. Are you brave enough to try the hottest of the hot?
