Do you love buying fresh local produce? If so, there’s no better place than the Smoky Mountains to find homegrown fruit and vegetables to enjoy all summer long. Back by popular demand, the Gatlinburg Farmer’s Market will open for its fourth season on May 17. Vacationing families who are looking for things to do in Gatlinburg on the weekend will have no shortage of fun through September 13 when the market will close for the season.

While listening to local bluegrass group Boogertown Gap, you can enjoy fresh coffee, baked goods, buttermilk ice cream and locally produced buttermilk. Vendors will have tents and tables filled with fresh local produce including herbs, mushrooms and summer vegetables. You can also browse through homemade jams, jellies and locally harvested honey all within walking distance to downtown.

The Farmer’s Market is open each Saturday from 8:00am-11:30am at the Covered Bridge in the Glades, so be sure to put this on your list of things to do in Gatlinburg on the weekend you’re in town.
