This spring, the world’s most famous Coal Miner’s Daughter will take the stage at the Country Tonite Theatre for a special Smoky Mountain show. At age 81, Loretta Lynn’s lyrics and voice still carry the same intensity and passion that earned her the nickname The Queen of Country Music so many years ago. An Incredible Career

Few people have worked harder to get where they are than Loretta Lynn. Born into a poor mining family in Kentucky in 1932, Loretta moved to Washington at age 15 with her new husband Oliver Vanetta Lynn.

After years of singing in local clubs and venues, Loretta was launched into stardom with her breakout 1967 hit “Don’t Come Home a Drinkin’ (With Lovin’ on Your Mind)”. Taking on the hot button issues of the day, Lynn’s songs have become an unforgettable part of American popular music.

During her 50 year career, Lynn has had 15 number one singles and 10 chart topping albums. She has sold over 45 million records and was honored with the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2013.
