Construction will be starting this July on Ober Gatlinburg’s newest attraction, the ADG Mountain Coaster! At 4000 feet long, this highly anticipated ride will also be Tennessee’s tallest mountain coaster. The mountain coaster at Ober Gatlinburg will give guests five and a half minutes of breathtaking scenery. The ride will start high up on Mt. Harrison, providing riders with a beautiful panoramic view, and then take them through the idyllic woods that border the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

A State of the Art Ride

People of all ages will be able to enjoy Ober’s new mountain coaster. Because riders can determine their individual speeds, they are in control of their entire journey. Some may choose a nice ambling pace, while others will zip down the mountain, reaching speeds of up to 25 mph. For those daredevils looking for a thrill, the coaster boasts corkscrews, zigs, zags, dips, and even G-forces. No matter how people customize their ride, they will do so in comfort and protected by the highest safety standards. The coaster not only has a seat belt monitoring system, but collision avoidance technology as well.

This upcoming winter season will be Ober Gatlinburg’s 53rd year in operation. The coaster will be just one of the many things to do, from the alpine slide and water rafting in the summer, to skiing and tubing in the winter.
