When you are on vacation, there is something special about eating at local restaurants that you do not have at home. If you are craving some delicious local BBQ, you can’t go wrong with Bennett’s Pit Bar-B-Que . They have two locations in the Smoky Mountains, one in Pigeon Forge and the other in Gatlinburg. This amazing business has been locally owned and operated for nearly three decades! Whether you are looking for ribs, chicken, pork, or something in between, Bennett’s is the place to go for all things BBQ. All of their meats are basted in their homemade sauce and then smoked for up to 14 hours!

2. Calhoun’s

If you are looking for a BBQ restaurant in Pigeon Forge that has an established reputation, Cahoun’s is the place for you. They started their business in 1983 with the first location in Knoxville, Tennessee. Since that time, they have taken off and now have 9 locations all across East Tennessee, including in Pigeon Forge. The thing that has led to their success is their dedication to the process. Once they found recipes that worked, they have never changed them. After all, why mess with perfection? If you are looking for the most popular menu item, you have to try the ribs. They are so good that they won first place in the National Rib Cook-Off in Cleveland, Ohio!

With two locations in Pigeon Forge, Boss Hogg’s BBQ Shack makes it easy to find a delicious meal. Both of their restaurants are open for lunch and dinner and are ready to greet your family to the Smokies. One of the best things about the menu at Boss Hogg’s is that you can just order the meat entrees without sides. If you are planning a large family dinner, both the pulled pork and the brisket can be ordered by the pound. Just don’t forget to pick up a few pints of their famous BBQ sauce to go with your meal!

4. J.T Hannah’s Kitchen

Speaking of award winning ribs, you would sure be missing out if you didn’t try the St. Louis Spare Ribs at J.T Hannah’s . These ribs are cooked low and slow with a homemade spice blend, and then covered with a sweet and tangy BBQ sauce that will leave your mouth watering for days. The restaurant gives you the option to order the ribs in either a half or a full rack, but believe us you will want the full rack!
