Spending Christmas in the Smokies is an amazing experience all on its own, but when you have a Pigeon Forge cabin with a home theater room, you can add an extra dose of holiday magic with a Christmas movie night! Here are six steps to get you thinking about the best ways to boost holiday spirit for this special evening:

1. Choose the Movie

Obviously, selecting the right movie should be number one on your list. You can let your kids decide, choose a favorite from your own childhood, or pick out a new holiday release that nobody has seen yet. Here are a few classic films that never disappoint:

  • How the Grinch Stole Christmas
  • Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
  • A Christmas Story
  • Miracle on 34th Street
  • It’s a Wonderful Life

2. Bake Christmas Cookies

It’s not a party without something sweet to eat, so whip up a batch of Christmas cookies! You can add a layer of interactive fun by letting everyone decorate their own with a variety of icing colors, sprinkles, and fun toppings. All of our cabins come with fully furnished kitchens, so guests will have everything they need for a night of baking.

3. Pop Some Popcorn

Not everybody loves sweets, so get some movie theater popcorn ready to go too. If there are any leftovers at the end, you can always turn them into popcorn garlands to decorate a Christmas tree!

4. Play Holiday Music

Set the mood for your movie night by playing your favorite holiday songs. Go for a mix of old and new, silly and contemplative, so everyone hears a little of what they love.

5. Create a Christmas Wonderland

You can’t have a Christmas movie night without decorations! It’s a piece of cake to turn your Pigeon Forge cabin with a home theater room into the North Pole. String lights around the room, decorate the dining room with red and green tablecloths and napkins, and don’t forget to put on your Santa hats.

6. Plan Other Activities

Whether you want to set the mood for the movie or continue your party once the movie’s done, consider planning a sing-along, a white elephant gift exchange, or some fun Christmas games! You can even enjoy some nightlife activities in Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge!

With these party ideas under your belt, you can now start crafting the perfect Christmas movie night for your family.
